HecticTransit

The digital video revolution is yesterday’s news. Hectic Electric and AVP are already taking the next step: making sure everyone can find their way in the jungle of their newly digitalized, high-speed work environment.

Soon, audio and video will no longer have to be delivered to broadcasters on tape, but can simply be put on a digital file that’s kind of an upscaled version of MPEG. Only this file uses a different way of coding to ensure high quality. It’s the brand new MXF 30.

Putting together an MFX file will remain a clear and orderly process, but delivering it to broadcasters is set to become much more

daunting. The question of who is responsible for delivery will be especially complicated.

In order to clear this up, Hectic Electric and AVP have developed a new workflow management system: HecticTransit.

HecticTransit is, in essence, a huge server that hosts password-protected space for clients. Hectic Electric and AVP will place all files meant for broadcast on this server. If you want to send any of the files through to broadcasters or clients, simply check their respective boxes. HecticTransit also allows you to send review copies to clients, account managers or other interested parties that have been involved in the creative process.

The system clearly shows you who is responsible for certain files and allows you to see their past, present and future status.

All of this means that it has become a lot easier to check files before they’re sent off to broadcasters. You can log in anytime, anywhere, and there is no longer any need to use a messenger service or to order review copies.

The enire workflow has been automated, including the invoicing process. Upon delivery of a file, the system automatically creates an invoice in PDF format and sends it to the client. The 1.0 version of HecticTransit will soon become operational. The system will be enhanced in the near future as its basic features offer many possibilities for further applications.

Hectic Electric and AVP look forward to receiving any feedback from users. Please send your comments to info@hectictransit.nl
